The Senior Marketing Growth Specialist, Marketplaces is responsible for driving end-to-end growth, performance, and commercial success across online marketplaces, with an immediate, primary focus on optimizing and driving growth on the Walmart Marketplace. This role owns marketplace strategy and execution across sales strategy, portfolio growth, media, pricing, competitive positioning, deals, content, forecasting, and compliance, while partnering cross-functionally with Sales & Marketing to deliver sustainable revenue growth, profitability, and market share expansion.
Marketplace Portfolio Ownership, Paid Ads & Performance Analytics
· Foster positive, impactful partnerships and maintain professional, timely communication with the Walmart platform team, marketplace account managers, and external stakeholders.
· Direct and manage the full portfolio of assigned marketplace accounts under the corporate umbrella, driving revenue, traffic, and overall market share.
· Focus primarily on driving growth and operational excellence within Canadian marketplace channels, while scaling and managing US marketplace extensions.
· Serve as the strategic lead for the Walmart Marketplace, executing and optimizing sponsored ads and search engine marketing (SEM) campaigns to generate high ROAS and meet major KPIs.
· Develop, upload, and initiate new paid search and display campaigns across all active platforms, conducting ongoing keyword research, bid management, and budget optimization.
· Monitor, analyze, and deliver detailed weekly and monthly reports on campaign performance, traffic, and conversion metrics using data-driven insights to optimize ad spend.
· Design and execute structured experimentation and test-and-learn frameworks across advertising and creative to identify scalable growth levers.
· Actively identify and secure positions as an early participant in Walmart and other platform pilot programs and initiatives to gain competitive advantages and test new features.
Demand Forecasting, Inventory & Fulfillment Excellence
· Provide highly accurate demand forecasting by individual product and by month to support supply chain, production, and marketplace availability.
· Own and track sales figures against the business goals, executing targeted strategies to consistently exceed the Annual Operating Plan.
· Oversee Walmart Fulfillment Services (WFS) inventory management, with a strict focus on maintaining optimal stock levels and avoiding stockouts on top-tier, key selling products.
· Partner closely with the internal Shipping and Warehouse teams to coordinate seamless inbound shipments to WFS hubs, as well as optimize operational workflows for Seller-fulfilled orders.
· Ensure inventory availability and stock levels align perfectly with cost structures and forecasted sales targets ahead of marketplace promotions, deals, and high-volume sales periods.
Product Research, Pricing & Competitive Strategy
· Conduct thorough category and product research evaluating marketplace demand, competition, and launch feasibility.
· Establish competitive pricing strategies and provide analytical data inputs into margin forecasting and profit optimization.
· Lead continuous competitive strategy across marketplaces, closely monitoring market dynamics, competitor positioning, and shifting trends.
· Swiftly react to changing market conditions, adjusting promotional mechanics and pricing direction to defend market share and maximize growth opportunities.
· Foster positive and impactful partnerships with the Walmart platform team, account managers, and other stakeholders, negotiating effectively on all levels of cost-and-price (CAP) structures to protect margins.

Marketplace Listing Optimization & PDP Conversion
· Manage the new item creation and setup procedure across marketplace sites leveraging platform tools to ensure fast time-to-market and coordinated, on-time delivery based on the product launch calendar.
· Take absolute ownership of catalog integrity across all active accounts, ensuring 100% accuracy of all product specifications, pricing, imagery, and backend data points.
· Optimize above-the-fold content, titles, and bullet points to maximize search visibility, improve organic ranking, and drive high conversion rates on Product Detail Pages (PDPs).
· Implement and maintain enhanced content (such as Walmart Rich Media / A+ content) where available by platform, and proactively deploy these assets as features roll out regionally within Canada.
· Act as an internal advocate and partner closely with the Customer Service team to monitor seller ratings, address product reviews, and improve customer feedback to secure eligibility for deals and top-tier promotional placements.
Cross-Functional Strategy & Balanced Growth
· Partner proactively with the internal Sales & Marketing teams to ensure marketplace pricing and promotional activities do not negatively impact or conflict with broader brand efforts.
· Act as the primary decision-maker for resolving marketplace growth and commercial trade-offs, evaluating the organizational impact of deep discounts or exclusive marketplace deals to ensure a proper, profitable balance across sales channels.
· Work closely with other team members to navigate channel challenges and co-create strategic, cross-functional solutions that benefit the entire business.
Compliance, Account Health & Troubleshooting
· Proactively manage ongoing channel compliance, policy mandates, and risk management related to marketplace guidelines, preventing account penalties, buy-box losses, or listing suppressions.
· Actively troubleshoot catalog errors, listing blocks, and delivery discrepancies as they arise.
· Raise, manage, and track support tickets with marketplace partner helpdesks to ensure quick, timely resolution of operational and technical glitches.
· Identify and mitigate commercial, operational, and reputational risks related to listings, inventory, and marketplace health impacting Pro Seller badge.
Forecasting & Analytics

Candidate Profile: Qualifications, Experience & Skills
· 3+ years of direct experience managing larger e-commerce marketplaces
· Very experienced in the use of Excel and conducting data analysis against large datasets.
· Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, or a related field is an asset, but equivalent professional hands-on marketplace experience will be fully considered.
· Verified operational history managing fulfillment logistics (FBA/WFS and merchant-fulfilled workflows), logistics coordination with warehouse teams, compliance standards, cross-border accounts (Canada/US), market analysis, and technical troubleshooting.
· Strong technical command of Marketplace Ads (i.e. Amazon, Walmart).
· Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to build strong partner relationships and clear alignment with internal operational, sales, and marketing teams.
· Strong organizational and project management skills with a relentless attention to detail and zero tolerance for content inaccuracies or messy data structures.
· Ability to view marketplace channels through a holistic business lens, taking ownership of commercial decisions while collaborating with wider team members to resolve impacts on other business units.
· Strong understanding of e-commerce fulfillment dynamics, inventory turn, lead times, and cross-functional warehouse communication.
· Strong understanding of e-commerce user experience (UX) principles, SEO copywriting, and layout optimization to turn traffic into sales.
Compensation & Work Setting
· Base Salary Range: $60,000 – $65,000 CAD (Commensurate with experience)
· Additional Compensation: Performance-based bonus structure
