Marketing Operations Lead

What to learn: This role reveals that Braintrust is building a **systems-first growth function** where Marketing Ops owns the entire demand pipeline architecture (targeting, routing, scoring, lifecycle) rather than just supporting existing processes—suggesting they're moving beyond early-stage chaos into operationalized, repeatable GTM. The emphasis on **converting signals (product, intent, campaign) into GTM actions** and automating workflows points to a company betting heavily on data-driven, AI-assisted execution to scale efficiently, which directly mirrors the observability/AI infrastructure thesis they're selling. The seniority level and "player-coach" language signals they need someone who can both architect systems *and* execute hands-on while mentoring, indicating they're at that inflection point ($10M-50M+ ARR) where the function requires both strategic design and operational rigor.

ABOUT THE COMPANY Braintrust is the AI observability platform. By connecting evals and observability in one workflow, Braintrust gives builders the visibility to understand how AI behaves in production and the tools to improve it. Teams at Notion, Stripe, and Vercel use Braintrust to compare models, test prompts, and catch regressions — turning production data into better AI with every release. WHAT YOU’LL DO - Own how we convert demand into pipeline: Define who we target, when we engage, and how leads move through Marketing → SDR → Sales. - Design lifecycle, routing, and scoring systems: Build and evolve the logic for MQLs, PQLs, ICP segmentation, and lead routing to maximize conversion. - Own how we engage prospects and customers: Design the systems and timing for outreach across lifecycle stages and account segments. - Turn signals into GTM actions: Translate product, intent, and campaign signals into outbound, nurture, and sales handoffs. - Drive funnel performance and insights: Identify gaps, improve conversion, and ensure we have clear visibility into what drives pipeline and ROI. - Make GTM workflows automated and AI-driven: Reduce manual work by building scalable, automated systems for campaigns, events, and lifecycle. - Partner across GTM to build and scale systems: Work with Marketing, Sales, RevOps, and Engineering to align execution, measurement, and planning. - Act as a senior operator and partner to marketing leadership: Own outcomes, influence strategy, and help scale the function as we grow. WHAT YOU’LL BRING - 7–10+ years of experience in Marketing Ops, Growth Ops, or Revenue Operations in high-growth B2B SaaS. - Proven experience building and scaling marketing ops systems at a company that has grown meaningfully (e.g., $10M → $50M+ ARR or similar). - Player-coach builder: You’ve designed and implemented lifecycle systems, routing, scoring, and automation yourself, and are comfortable owning outcomes while staying hands-on in the tools day-to-day. - Experience operating at scale: You’ve supported a growing GTM org and know how to design systems that don’t break as volume increases. - Strong technical skills across automation, workflows, integrations, and marketing systems (CRM, lifecycle tools, enrichment, etc.). - Experience translating data and signals into actionable GTM programs, not just reporting. - Familiarity with AI and automation tools, and a point of view on how to apply them to GTM workflows. - Strong stakeholder management: Able to partner closely with marketing leadership and influence decisions. - PLG or hybrid PLG/SLG experience strongly preferred. BENEFITS INCLUDE - Medical, dental, and vision insurance - Daily lunch, snacks, and beverages - Flexible time off - Competitive salary and equity - Wifi & cellphone stipend EQUAL OPPORTUNITY Braintrust is an equal opportunity employer. All applicants will be considered for employment without attention to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran or disability status.
Education Marketing Lead

What to learn: The role reveals that LangChain scopes growth/marketing around **education as a direct acquisition and activation lever**—not just content marketing—with ownership spanning enrollment campaigns, SEO, lifecycle nurture, and partnership distribution, all tied to measurable funnel metrics. The signature tension is between driving top-of-funnel volume (course enrollments, certifications, organic search) and optimizing for downstream engagement and product adoption, suggesting they view education less as brand-building and more as a conversion tool. The seniority signal is high autonomy over an entire channel (Academy) with cross-functional coordination, but notably *not* owning the full marketing function—positioning this as a specialized, high-leverage role rather than a general head of marketing, which is worth understanding as you evaluate the Head of Growth scope at Raindrop.

ABOUT US At LangChain, our mission is to make intelligent agents ubiquitous. We build the foundation for agent engineering in the real world, helping developers move from prototypes to production-ready AI agents that teams can rely on. We began as widely adopted open-source tools and have grown to also offer a platform for building, evaluating, deploying, and operating agents at scale. With $125M raised at Series B from IVP, Sequoia, Benchmark, CapitalG, and Sapphire Ventures, we’re at a stage where we’re continuing to develop new products, growth is accelerating, and all team members have meaningful impact on what we build and how we work together. LangChain is a place where your contributions can shape how this technology shows up in the real world. Today, our platform includes LangSmith (Observability, Evaluation, Deployment, Fleet, and Sandboxes), our open source frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph, and Deep Agents), and the newly launched LangSmith Engine for autonomous agent improvement. We have 100M+ monthly open source downloads, 6,000+ active LangSmith customers, and 5 of the Fortune 10 use LangSmith in production (+ 35% of the Fortune 500 overall), including teams at Klarna, Clay, Coinbase, Workday, Lyft, Cloudflare, Harvey, Rippling, Vanta, LinkedIn, Monday.com, Nvidia, and Bridgewater. ABOUT THE ROLE Location: San Francisco, CA or New York City, NY LangChain Academy is how developers, engineers, and AI practitioners go from curious to capable on LangChain's products. We're looking for an Education Marketing Lead to own the strategy and execution that turns LangChain Academy into a meaningful growth channel for LangChain at large. This is a high-ownership role sitting at the intersection of education and growth. You'll build the programs, systems, and go-to-market motions that drive Academy enrollment at scale, while shaping the learner experience that keeps developers coming back and advancing through our curriculum. You'll work with the Technical Content Manager and across education engineers, deployed engineers, brand design, lifecycle marketing, and our SEO agency. LangChain already has strong technical credibility and a developer community that cares deeply about building with our products. Education is one of the highest-leverage ways to deepen that relationship and expand our reach. Your job is to build the marketing engine that makes LangChain Academy a destination for agent engineers. WHAT YOU'LL DO Marketing Academy - Drive enrollment. Develop and execute promotional campaigns that reach developers where they are, within LangChain docs, on social, through the newsletter, and via community touchpoints, to consistently drive top-of-funnel course enrollment. - Build and scale certification programs. Own the development and launch of LangChain Academy certification offerings, from program design and credentialing mechanics to marketing and positioning that makes them worth earning. - Drive organic discovery through SEO. Partner with our SEO agency to own search strategy for Academy landing pages and educational content. Ensure courses and tutorials are positioned to capture high-intent developer search traffic and continuously improve organic reach over time. - Lead end-to-end course launches. Own the go-to-market process for every LangChain Academy course, from launch planning and cross-functional coordination to promotional execution across docs, socials, the LangChain website, email, and community channels. - Own LangChain Academy's external presence. Manage and continuously improve the Academy landing pages and external-facing site. Learner Lifecycle & Engagement - Invest in email and nurture flows for enrolled learners. Partnering with lifecycle marketing to build and optimize onboarding sequences, course completion nudges, and flows that keep learners progressing and guide them toward their next course or certification. - Collaborate with the Technical Content Manager on pathways and bundles. Work closely with the Education Manager to develop and market curriculum pathways and course bundles that help learners understand how to progress through the Academy and make it easy to take the next step. - Optimize for enrollment and engagement. Take a growth mindset to the learner funnel. Understand where learners drop off and make data-informed decisions about how to fix issues. Partnerships & Community - Build educational distribution partnerships. Identify and develop co-marketing and distribution opportunities with learning platforms (LinkedIn Learning, DataCamp, and similar) and AI/ML communities that can expand Academy's reach to the right audiences at scale. - Think systemically about developer onboarding through education. Be the person always asking: how do we use education to get more developers successfully building on LangChain? Bring ideas, run experiments, and build programs that move the needle on product adoption through learning. - Own the YouTube education content calendar. Maintain and drive the content calendar for education-focused YouTube videos and tutorials, working closely with education engineers and deployed engineers to plan, schedule, and promote content consistently. Measurement & Reporting - Own top-of-funnel enrollment numbers. You're accountable for Academy enrollment as a metric. Always have a point of view on what's driving it, what's holding it back, and what to do next. - Track what matters beyond enrollment. Work with the Technical Content Manager to analyze reporting on learner engagement, course completion rates, drop-off, NPS, and content performance across Academy and YouTube. Use the data to inform what gets made, how it gets promoted, and where the experience needs work. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR - Systems thinker with a growth mindset. You're organized and process-oriented. You can own a CMS, run a content calendar, and manage a launch, but you're always thinking about what would move the number and how to test it. - Developer empathy. You understand what earns trust with technical audiences. You know the difference between educational content developers find genuinely useful and content that feels like a tutorial-shaped ad. - Strong communicator and writer. You can write crisp promotional copy, a clear course description, and a launch brief, and you have a POV on tone that feels credible and human, not corporate. - Collaborative operator. You're comfortable working across the Technical Content Manager, education engineers, deployed engineers, lifecycle marketing, brand design, and an external SEO agency, synthesizing different inputs into a coherent plan and owning execution. - Technical curiosity. Genuine interest in AI and the developer ecosystem. Familiarity with LangChain products or similar tools is a strong plus. What to learn: This role shows a mature AI infrastructure company using education as a *primary growth channel* rather than support function—they're measuring it as a top-of-funnel enrollment metric and building distribution partnerships around it, which signals they've validated developer onboarding-through-learning as a scalable acquisition lever. The scope is notably narrow and deep (Academy-focused) rather than broad, emphasizing execution excellence across owned channels (docs, email, YouTube, SEO) plus partnership development, which suggests they value someone who can move metrics independently without relying on paid media. The seniority signal is a true "Head of" scope—full P&L ownership of a channel—but the title stays junior (Lead), indicating they may prioritize execution velocity and growth results over traditional pedigree.

About Decagon Decagon is the leading conversational AI platform empowering every brand to deliver concierge customer experiences. Our technology enables industry-defining enterprises like Avis Budget Group, Block’s Cash App and Square, Chime, Oura Health, and Hunter Douglas to deploy AI agents that power personalized, deeply satisfying interactions across voice, chat, email, SMS, and every other channel. We’re building a future where customer experiences are being redefined from support tickets and hold music to faster resolutions, richer conversations, and deeper relationships. We’re proud to be backed by world-class investors who share that vision, including a16z, Accel, Bain Capital Ventures, Coatue, and Index Ventures, along with many others. We’re an in-office company, driven by a shared commitment to excellence and velocity. Our values — Just Get It Done, Invent What Customers Want, Winner’s Mindset, and The Polymath Principle — shape how we work and grow as a team. About the Role Decagon is looking for a Head of Industry Marketing to own our go-to-market strategy across our core verticals. You'll define how Decagon is positioned, messaged, and sold into each industry, and partner closely with Sales, Product, Agent Product, and Growth to turn that strategy into pipeline and revenue. In this role, you will - Customer and market intelligence: Stay close to customers, prospects, analysts, and the competitive landscape in each vertical. Surface insights that sharpen positioning and inform product direction. - Vertical GTM strategy: Define and own the go-to-market strategy for Decagon's priority industries. Develop ICP definitions, buyer personas, key use cases, and competitive positioning for each vertical. - Messaging and positioning: Craft the core narrative for how Decagon wins in each industry. Develop differentiated value propositions grounded in real buyer pain, vertical-specific proof points, and Decagon's technical moat. Own the messaging hierarchy from category level down to persona level. - Sales enablement: Build the assets and plays that help the sales teams win: battlecards, industry primers, objection handling, discovery question frameworks, and deal-stage content. Measure what actually gets used and improves conversion. - Launch and campaign strategy: Partner with Growth to plan how vertical programs come to market, from ABM campaigns and field events to customer stories and analyst moments. - Cross-functional alignment: Serve as the connective tissue between Product and Sales for your industries. Ensure that new product capabilities get translated into vertical-specific value quickly, and that field feedback loops back into roadmap and messaging. Your background looks something like this - 10+ years of experience in product marketing or industry/solutions marketing, ideally at a B2B SaaS company. - You've owned a vertical or segment GTM strategy, not just executed campaigns within someone else's framework. - You're a strong messaging strategist who knows how to develop a point of view, translate it into crisp narratives, and pressure-test it with buyers and sellers. - You've worked closely with enterprise sales teams and understand what it takes to influence a complex, multi-stakeholder deal. - You think in positioning before you think in deliverables. You ask "why does this matter to the buyer?" before "what should this say?" - You're comfortable with ambiguity and can define the structure others will execute against. Even better if you have - Experience marketing to complex, regulated industries. - A track record launching new vertical motions from scratch, not just inheriting a playbook. - Familiarity with the AI or CX technology landscape and the ability to credibly engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders alike. - Experience building analyst and press relationships within a specific industry. Benefits We proudly offer the following benefits for our full-time employees: - Take what you need vacation policy (subject to local requirements; UK employees receive 25 days of statutory leave) - Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits for you and your family - Life Insurance and Disability Benefits - Retirement Plan (e.g., 401K, pension) - Parental Leave - Fertility and family building benefits through Carrot - Daily lunches and snacks in the office to keep you at your best These benefits are described in more detail in Decagon’s policies, may vary by location, and can change at any time according to applicable compensation and benefits plans.

Head of Marketing Operations
Fireworks AI · San Mateo · posted May 27, 2026
What to learn: This role reveals that at infrastructure AI startups, the Head of Marketing Operations is essentially the Chief of Staff to SVP Marketing—owning the entire operating system (planning cadence, budget, program management, cross-functional alignment) rather than leading demand generation or brand strategy. The signature metrics emphasize predictability and trust (audit-ready pipeline attribution, SLA enforcement, real-time exec visibility, on-time delivery) over growth velocity itself, suggesting these companies prioritize reliable measurement and operational rigor as competitive advantages in selling to technical buyers. The seniority signal is clear: this is a director-to-VP level role requiring 3+ years leading operations at growth-stage companies, with deep expertise in martech stack architecture, data governance, and the ability to be the connective tissue that unblocks the rest of marketing—notably distinct from a CMO or demand gen leader.

ABOUT THIS ROLE The Head of Marketing Operations builds the infrastructure that lets Fireworks marketing scale, and runs the operating system that keeps the team performing day to day. You own the marketing tech stack, the data model, the lifecycle, and the analytics that turn marketing into a predictable pipeline engine that the executive team can trust. You also own the planning rhythms, budget, prioritization, and program management that keep every function inside marketing shipping on time and in sync. The right person is rigorous, opinionated about tooling, and energized by the operational problems most marketers avoid. You think about marketing the way a great operator thinks about a business: cadence, accountability, resource allocation, and clear measurement. Reports to: SVP Marketing Location: Remote (US) with periodic travel to San Mateo HQ Compensation: Competitive salary + equity LOCATION AND WORK STYLE This role is remote-friendly within the US. You will travel to our San Mateo HQ periodically for team onsites, planning sessions, and key moments that benefit from being in person. We will establish a cadence that works for the team and the role. RESPONSIBILITIES MARKETING TECHNOLOGY STACK AND ARCHITECTURE You own the marketing tech stack end-to-end: selection, implementation, integration, and the standards that govern how data flows between systems. This includes the marketing automation platform, CDP or warehouse-native architecture decisions, enrichment, and the integration layer with Salesforce. Success is measured by stack reliability, total cost of ownership, and the speed at which marketing can launch new programs. MARKETING OPERATING SYSTEM AND PROGRAM MANAGEMENT You run the operating rhythm of the marketing team. This includes the annual and quarterly planning process, goal setting and tracking, weekly business reviews, and cross-functional program management across demand gen, product marketing, content, and brand. You own the marketing budget model, vendor contracts, headcount planning support, and the prioritization framework that turns a long list of ideas into a focused roadmap. You are the connective tissue that makes the rest of the marketing team faster, more aligned, and easier to scale. Success is measured by on-time program delivery, budget accuracy, and team velocity. LIFECYCLE, LEAD MANAGEMENT, AND SCORING You own the full lifecycle from anonymous visitor through closed-won, including lead scoring, MQL and PQL definitions, SLA enforcement, and the handoff to sales. This includes the operational rigor around routing, nurture, and re-engagement. Success is measured by SDR conversion lift and clean handoff metrics. ATTRIBUTION, REPORTING, AND ANALYTICS You own marketing analytics, attribution methodology, and the dashboards that the executive team and the board see. This includes pipeline attribution, channel ROI, and the quarterly marketing performance review. Success is measured by leadership confidence in the numbers and by speed of decision-making informed by them. DATA GOVERNANCE AND COMPLIANCE You own data hygiene, privacy compliance (GDPR, CCPA, and emerging US state laws), and the governance model that keeps our database trustworthy as we scale. Success is measured by data quality scores, deliverability rates, and zero material compliance incidents. WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE - Marketing-sourced pipeline is reported with confidence and audit-ready definitions - Lead scoring drives measurable lift in downstream conversion rates - The full funnel from visitor to closed-won is instrumented and visible in shared dashboards - Campaign launch time drops as a result of better operational playbooks - Marketing and sales agree on the data, the definitions, and the single source of truth - The marketing team operates on a clear quarterly cadence with shared priorities, transparent budget, and on-time delivery against the plan - The SVP of Marketing and the broader exec team have real-time visibility into team capacity, program status, and spend without chasing updates WHAT THIS ROLE DOES NOT OWN - Campaign creative and execution: Demand Gen leader - Sales technology and territory design: Sales Operations - Product analytics and PLG instrumentation: Product and Data teams YOU SHOULD HAVE - 8+ years in marketing operations with at least 3 years in a leadership role - Experience building marketing operations from scratch or replatforming at a B2B SaaS company - Proven track record at a startup or fast-scaling growth-stage company - Track record running planning cadences, OKRs, and cross-functional program management for a marketing org - Deep fluency in HubSpot or Marketo, Salesforce, and at least one BI tool (Looker, Tableau, Sigma) - Comfort owning data quality, GDPR/CCPA compliance, and attribution debates - Experience managing budget, vendor relationships, and headcount planning alongside a marketing leader - Calm under pressure with strong opinions held loosely NICE TO HAVE - Past experience at a developer-first or product-led growth company - SQL fluency - Experience with hybrid PQL and MQL scoring models

Marketing Chief of Staff
Cohere · Toronto · posted Jun 12, 2026
What to learn: Cohere positions marketing as a revenue-driving function deeply accountable to pipeline math and cross-functional execution, not brand storytelling—the CoS role is explicitly about operating rhythm, priority-setting, and keeping a high-velocity org from losing coherence, which means Michael should expect Growth at Raindrop to similarly prioritize ruthless prioritization and operational excellence over creative output. The role signals that at this stage of B2B AI infrastructure, marketing leadership needs to be bilingual between strategy and execution, comfortable with ambiguity, and credible on how campaigns actually convert—someone who can read through polished dashboards to find what's real. The emphasis on "cross-functional connective tissue" with sales and product (not Marketing Ops' domain) suggests Raindrop likely has similar friction points around lead quality, scoring, and accountability that a growth leader will need to untangle directly with revenue teams.

Who are we? Cohere is the leading security-first enterprise AI company. We build cutting-edge foundation AI models and end-to-end products that are designed to solve real-world business problems. We’re training and deploying frontier models for enterprises who are building AI systems. We believe that our work is instrumental to the widespread adoption of AI and we are looking for folks that want to be part of that. We obsess over what we build. Each one of us is responsible for contributing to increasing the capabilities of our models and the value they drive for our customers. Cohere is a team of researchers, engineers, designers, and more, who are all passionate about their craft. We are a global technology company co-headquartered in Toronto and San Francisco, with key offices in London, New York City, Montreal, Seoul, Germany and Paris. Join us! ABOUT THE ROLE We're hiring a Marketing Chief of Staff to keep Cohere's marketing org moving at full speed without coming apart at the seams. You'll report to the VP of Brand and work across the whole function: brand, editorial, design, product marketing, demand generation, and integrated marketing. This is not a strategy-only role, and it isn't a glorified project-management seat either. In any given quarter the org is shipping product launches, field events, partner campaigns, and demand programs in parallel, often across regions and time zones. That pace is the reason the role exists. Your job is to make sure the right work wins when everything feels urgent, that plans turn into shipped work, and that the VP of Brand and the leadership team spend their time leading instead of firefighting. Be clear-eyed about the shape of the work. A lot of it is operational: the planning calendar, the budget, the headcount plan, the weekly business reviews, the cross-functional handoffs that break when nobody owns them. The grind is the job. You should want that part, not tolerate it. One boundary worth naming up front. Marketing Ops owns the systems: the MarTech stack, attribution, scoring, routing, data pipelines, and the reporting everyone runs on. You'll be the heaviest consumer of that work, not the owner of it. If you find yourself rebuilding dashboards or running a tooling migration, something has gone wrong. Your seat is the operating rhythm of the org: meetings, priorities, plans, and the decisions that come out of them. WHO YOU ARE You've run operations inside a fast, high-output B2B marketing org, and you've left it running better than you found it. You know the specific failure mode of a team that's shipping a lot and losing the thread, and you know how to pull it back without slowing everyone down. You understand how marketing actually works, at the level of someone who's done it rather than managed it from a distance. You can talk credibly about how a campaign turns into pipeline, what account-based marketing demands from both sales and marketing before it works, and where demand-gen motions usually break. You don't have to have run every program yourself. You do have to understand them well enough that the people who run them respect your judgment. You're fluent in the numbers. Pipeline math, funnel conversion, budget-to-impact. You can read a marketing dashboard and tell what's real from what's been dressed up, and you say so. Building the reporting is Marketing Ops' job. Yours is to use it well and push back when it doesn't add up. You hold strategy and execution in the same hand. You can sit in a planning conversation with the VP in the morning and chase down a stuck deliverable in the afternoon, and you don't think the second thing is beneath you. You write clearly and you communicate straight. People trust your readouts because they're honest, not because they're polished. When something is off track, you name it early. You stay calm when it's messy. A marketing org this active will hand you ambiguity every day. Your job is to turn it into a plan other people can actually follow. WHAT YOU'LL OWN OPERATING RHYTHM AND PLANNING Run the marketing org's planning cadence: annual and quarterly planning, goal-setting, and the weekly and monthly business reviews. Hold the calendar. Drive budget and headcount planning against the slate, working from Marketing Ops' tracking and reporting, and keep both honest as priorities shift mid-quarter. You own the trade-off conversations; Marketing Ops owns the numbers underneath them. Make the reviews worth holding. Drive the prep, the follow-through, and the decisions that should come out of them. PRIORITIES AND CROSS-FUNCTIONAL FLOW Turn the VP of Brand's priorities into plans the team can execute, then hold the line on those priorities when new fires start. Keep major programs from colliding or stalling across brand, editorial, design, product marketing, demand gen, and integrated marketing. A lot of this is seeing the crash coming and preventing it. Be the person teams come to when it isn't clear who owns a decision. CONNECTIVE TISSUE WITH THE REST OF THE COMPANY Represent marketing in cross-functional planning with sales, product, and finance, so the org's commitments are realistic and its dependencies are visible. When marketing promises something to another team, you make sure the promise was sane and gets kept. The systems plumbing behind that (lead routing, scoring, pipeline data) sits with Marketing Ops and RevOps. Your job is the planning and accountability layer on top of it. You'll also chase procurement and legal when purchases and projects stall. LEADERSHIP LEVERAGE Build the materials leadership relies on: board updates, all-hands content, exec readouts. Make them clear and honest, not decorative. Give the VP of Brand back time and attention by carrying the work that doesn't need to land on their desk. SPECIAL PROJECTS Lead the things that don't fit neatly on any one team's plate: a reorg, a new agency relationship, a flagship event, an org-wide planning week. Own them end to end. HOW SUCCESS WILL BE MEASURED Planning happens on time and means something. The slate is set, owned, and funded, and people can point to it. Programs ship on cadence without running into each other. Fewer last-minute scrambles, fewer dropped handoffs. Leadership gets time back. The VP of Brand spends more of their week on the calls that need them and less on the ones that don't. Decisions run on the numbers. Reviews and planning work from the org's single source of truth instead of side spreadsheets, and follow-ups actually close. The org feels coherent. People know what they're working on, why it's the priority, and how it connects to the rest of the company. WHAT YOU BRING 10+ years of operating experience, with real time inside a marketing org in a Chief of Staff, business operations, or senior program-operations seat. A practitioner's understanding of demand generation and account-based marketing in a B2B context. You can talk pipeline, not just plans. Comfort with marketing and pipeline metrics and with running a budget. You can build the model and read the dashboard. A track record of bringing order to a fast, complex org without grinding it to a halt. Clear writing, straight talk, and the presence to hold a room of senior people to a plan. BACKGROUNDS WE'D BE EXCITED ABOUT Chief of Staff or business operations at a high-growth B2B software or AI company. A marketing ops or RevOps leader who wants an org-level operating seat rather than a systems seat. Strategy or management consulting followed by an in-house operating role. A demand-gen or integrated-marketing operator who has moved into an org-level operating seat. Cohere is committed to fair and transparent pay practices. Head of Field Marketing and Events, Gen AI
Scale AI · San Francisco, CA · posted Jun 26, 2026
What to learn: This role reveals that at infrastructure-adjacent companies like Scale, field marketing owns significant P&L responsibility and acts as a direct revenue driver through event-to-pipeline mechanics—you're accountable for ROI tracking in Salesforce and deal acceleration alignment with sales leadership, not just demand generation. The emphasis on managing executive relationships, speaker logistics, and conference production (from venue selection to attendee strategy) signals that thought leadership and community-building through events are core growth channels in the AI infrastructure market, requiring both strategic planning chops and hands-on execution. The seniority signal is substantial (12+ years, team management, 50% travel, interfacing with C-suite externally), positioning field marketing as a specialized discipline distinct from demand gen—a signal that Michael should consider whether his ecommerce/digital background maps to the relationship-intensive, in-person event execution this market demands.

Head of EMEA Financial Services GTM
Databricks · London, United Kingdom · posted Apr 14, 2026
What to learn: # Key Learnings for Michael
**Scope & Structure:** This role reveals that at Databricks, growth marketing for enterprise AI infrastructure is **vertical-led and heavily executive-facing**—the Head of Growth owns full P&L accountability for a segment (EMEA Financial Services), combining strategy, sales enablement, content/demand generation, and partner development under one leader, rather than splitting these across specialized teams.
**Signature Responsibilities & Metrics:** Success is measured on **logo acquisition, revenue growth, and C-suite relationship depth** rather than traditional marketing metrics; the role emphasizes thought leadership (speaking, white papers), field enablement (sales plays, collateral), and operational diagnostics (identifying GTM gaps), signaling that infrastructure companies value marketing leaders who can quantify opportunities and coach sales on technical positioning.
**Positioning Signal:** The requirement for 10+ years as a banking executive (not a marketer) underscores that Databricks prioritizes **domain credibility and customer access over marketing expertise**—Michael should consider whether Raindrop values similar vertical depth or if they're willing to build that muscle with a marketing-first growth leader, and how he can frame his ecommerce/product growth background as translatable to building repeatable, verticalized GTM motion.
